Not on all aircraft models in all modes of flight.

The A300 AFS did not originally disengage AP in response to stick force.
(See my article posted earlier.)

Most other models do, except (I believe) the B767. I would welcome any
information on the B767 AP behaviour in response to manual force on the
controls.
