Where did you get the definition of V1. You are not correct. V1 is the
fastest speed from where you can safely stop on the runway............

You also have to be careful about setting a procedure of calling V1
prior to the actual speed, how are you accounting for the accelerate go
situation especially when combined with close-in obstacles????

The European rules are somewhat different but there again so are the FAA
rules for the two aircraft that you mentioned. Aircraft within Europe
are usually certified to the same gross weights as those operating for
US carriers, but with the differences in Vspeeds, there may be
differences in the performance limited weights
