I work in the pacific, while crossing the 180 meridian flying from such
places as nadi to tonga, syd to tonga, on various occassions i have had
the powers come back, unwarranted turn and loss of flight plans.
operating procedures now dictate that we go "hdg select" 10 miles prior
to the 180 and resume the fmc flight plan 10 miles after crossing the

happens, i know that similar problems can occur on gps machines.
