Anti-glare surface for the pilots.  Note that it's a matte finish, instead
of polished like the rest of the aircraft.  Look at all the navy planes as
well.

Look at baseball players (that black stuff under each eye), and quite a few
animals (cheetah leaps to mind).

I'd love it for my auto dashboard.  The windshield on most new cars is
steeply sloped; it acts like a mirror for anything sitting on the
dashboard.
