Two JAL SR's were brought back. The first was used for an extended
service life test at Boeing's Everett facilty. After completion, sections
of that aircraft are in use at the Boeing plant for their tour folks and
an additional section is at the London Science Museum depicting a cutaway
thru the fuselage showing seats , cargo area, wiring, duct work etc. The
second of these SR's we did select for the 2nd Nasa Shuttle Carrier.
NASA wanted a heavier load capability for this airplane and we were able
to make those mods.
