Windshields are also a concern when considering birdstrikes.

A Hawker 700 has a speed restriction of 220 knots below 6000 feet if the
windshield heat has not been on for 10 minutes or more if the outside
temperature is more than  15 deg. C or 30 minutes if the OAT is equal to or
less than 15 deg. C.  A heated windshield is more pliable and therefore better
able to withstand a birdstrike without breaking.
