Well if I gave you a 747 to paint ,

Would you like to paint it without having to paint very nice to look at but
hard to paint on  logos and nice emblems ?
Or would you prefer to mask-off the windows and other important "no-paint'
bits and just spray everything else white ?

Its easier and cheaper to paint an aircraft one colour.
White is common because its a common paint.
