Airlines dim cabin lights for take-off and landing as regularly as they make safety announcements and checks before take-off and landing. They dim the lights in daytime as well as night, so the dimming doesn't seem to be related to passenger siteseeing considerations. >From observation, it would appear that the FAA (or A/C manufactures) require dimming of cabin lights for take-off and landing. Is cabin light dimming a requirement? And if it is, why?
