There is talk about the weight and structural weakness associated with windows. Considering the vast advances in materials in the last 10 years, have Boeing or Airbus even attempted to improve the weight/strength aspect of the windows using new materials ? What is currently used as the outer windows ? Glass ? While the "Star Trek Transparent Aluminium" allowing huge picture windows on space crafts is still a couple of years away :-), I wonder what sort of advances have been made since the 60s ? Personally, I would prefer wider windows than taller windows. This way I can still look out with seat reclined.
