Let us not forget Mr. Coffin's corner; That is to say, that area of the
flight envelope where high-speed buffet meets low-speed buffet.

Also, since flaps add much drag to the wing, it is possible to get behind
the power curve and into a place where there isn't enough engine power to
increase speed - you have to give up some altitude to get it.
