To the best of my knowledge (and I don't have the regs here so I can't
look it up) the flight deck is exempt from the smoking regulations. The
argument is that a smoker without a smoke for a long flight would get
fidgety and make too many mistakes.
The Airline Pilot's Association (ALPA) ->strongly<- discourages it's
members from smoking at all, especially on the flight deck.
