Now that MDC and Boeing are merging, I wonder what will be the fate of the MD-11, MD-90 and MD-95. Each model competes in some way with at least one of Boeing's current or proposed products. Do you think that we are about to see the end of a famous (sometimes infamous) and distinctive aircraft lineage? Do you believe that Boeing Co. might pay homage to Douglas by, somehow, incorporating MDC products into it's commercial product line? Is it even possible? I don't think so but I could be wrong. My sense is that McDonnell Douglas brings an impressive military and space systems business to the merger. Those will be the pieces that will survive. I think that we are about to say goodbye to the large tri-jet and the rear-mounted twin for good. Let's hear what you think.
