The NYTimes "Week in Review" Sunday Nov 24 1996 p1 has a piece on
the explosion on TW800 747. In substance it reports the obvious
fact that almost everyone connected with aviation had a "vested interest"
in an external cause for this explosion: bomb, missile, etc.
It will, as the sci.aeronautics.airliners thread readers have already
implied, require a pretty radical change in airliner practice if it must
be conceded that an empty fuel tank in a jet is an avoidable hazard!
