The newsgroup's charter is

A moderated discussion group on airliner technology: the design,
construction, performance, human factors, operation, and histories of
    transport-category aircraft.

Military transports certainly fit within that charter, and since some
of them (C-47, KC-135, KC-10) are derivatives of airliner designs, it
seems entirely appropriate to include them. Fighters and the like do
not generally fall within this charter, though, with exceptions once
in a while when experience and technologies from combat aircraft end
up being applied to transports, commercial or otherwise.
