A320 is similar to the 400.  The pilot can accept the airport
reference point as a default or modify the entry to the
published gate postion (published on Jepp charts and company
materials).
The FMS updates at application of takeoff power (IRS position
actuallydoes not update but becomes one source of data along with
radio postion data (DME-DME)), and also continuously updates
airborne with auto tuning of radio nav aids.
putting "exact" postion isn't very important unless you want the
map to be more accurate on taxi out or are planning extened
overwater ops, out of navaid range.
