DOH! I was in the Graf Zeppelin section of my book when I dug out the
reference to BLAUGAS, which was used as a replacement for gasoline on
the Graf. The Hindenburg was the first German dirigible to employ Diesel
engines alright, but sure enough, they ran on normal fuel oil.
