According to this weeks AW&ST, FedEx flight 1406 (MEM-BOS) diverted to
Stewart International in Newburgh, NY, shortly before 0600 on September
5 after smoke detectors triggered on the main deck. The DC-10-10CF,
reg N68055, ln 191, was delivered to Continental in March, 1975, and
acquired by FedEx in May, 1980.

The flight landed safely and taxied off the runway, but the fire burned
through the fuselage, causing the aft fuselage and empennage, including
the #2 engine, to fall to the ground.
