The information on the Honeywell and Litton units is correct. The Delco Carousel can determine true north within 15 arc minutes (1/4 of one degree), regardless of the accuracy of the initial present position entry. This is done by comparing the signals from the two accelerometers (placed 90 degrees apart) on the rotating 'Carousel' stable platform as they sense the speed of the earth's rotation. The rotation's all that's required for a heading computation.
