What about the center engine on an L-1011 or a 727, which in addition to having
a longer inlet path has an "S" duct (two turns together with the longer path)?
Any numbers as to the thrust reduction? What about life cycle of the engine- ie
operating temperatures, loadings, etc. as compared to the outboards?
