Out of curiosity, how is pressure controlled inside fuel tanks in an
aircraft ?

Are fuel tanks always equalized with ambiant air pressure, slightly
pressurized, or pressurized to the same pressure as is the main
passenger cabin ?

What about tanks which are inside the fuselage ? (eg: centre tank in a
747).

If the tanks are equalized with ambiant air, is the prevention of the
fuel from escaping a big problem, or is that prevent with a simple valve
?

How do the above questions change when you start to constantly feed some
exhaust or some other gas to the tanks ?
