Mexicana calls the 727 a Boeing Tri-Motor.  (They used to fly Ford
Tri-motors).  They also called the DC-10 a Douglas Tri-motor.

AeroMexico calls the DC-9 a DC-3 Jet.

Alaska A/L calls the 737-200 the Mudhen, for where it goes.

Then there's the Scarebus (A320), and BUFF and SLUFF, etc.
