The windows don't open on the 747.  The crew can egress two ways:
either through inertia reels from a hatch located on the cockpit roof, or
via a slide attached to a door located on the starboard side of the airplane,
behind the flight engineer's station.

The inertia reels would certainly be exciting, especially if they don't
work.
