Humidifiers on the 747-400 are either all deactivated, or now not
fitted by Boeing. The humid air buggers up all the electronics, CRTs,
and computers :(

HOWEVER, on my nice, old, steam-driven 747-236, we have a working
humidifier, and you can tell the difference. :)
