When an airplane lands, are the wheels rotating? It seems they are not
since there is always a puff a smoke when the wheels touch the runway.
Doesn't this burn up a lot of rubber? Wouldn't it save a lot of tire
tread if the wheels could be spun up to match the speed of the plane?
