Somewhere I heard about Boeing getting an STC for using 2 JT8D-217's in 
the 1 and 3 positions and a -15 in number 2. Something like that. MAybe 
it was the Rolls-Royce. I know UPS has their 27's setup with 2 RR Tay's 
and a -15. The Rolls engines are more fuel efficent, and meet the stage 
III noise requirements.

Personally, I think a pair of -217's on a 727 would rip and snort.
